SMileS Fair Trading with Kirklees Council
SMileS is supporting Kirklees Council in it‘s quest for Fairtrade Town status for Huddersfield (and then the whole of Kirklees - our local Authority) and we need your help to get us there. We want to bring together people in Kirklees and promote Fairtrade to help change lives in the developing world.
Fairtrade is about better prices and decent working conditions for farmers, workers and communities in the developing world. Buying products with the Fairtrade Mark helps guarantee a fairer deal for everyone.
We are supporting Fairtrade Huddersfield on Friday 13th August by ‘donating‘ a staff member to help by visiting companies in Huddersfield Town Centre, educating them about Fairtrade and encouraging them to become involved - even if it‘s just by choosing fair-trade tea and coffee for staff refreshments. There‘s a Fairtrade stall at the fantastic Kirklees Food and Drink Festival - the biggest in Europe - that will be on from Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th August; call at the stall on 13th August to find out more or visit
