Investment Body Secures Three Further Years
Connect Yorkshire, the body that assists entrepreneurs in gaining early-stage funding, has secured a three-year contract worth £3m from Yorkshire Forward to provide access to finance support.
Speaking at Connect's Investment Forum in Sheffield yesterday, chief executive Nick Butler said: "This is approximately three times the size of our current contract and will require us to widen our remit to cover all high-growth companies, not just technology companies."
The organisation has also won a contract to establish and run an IT and telecoms business network called techmesh.
Butler added: "Our ambition is to help IT and telecom companies in Yorkshire grow primarily by helping them achieve more sales and by finding more collaborators that can help them win business."
More than 100 investors attended yesterday's conference at Mercure St Paul's hotel where nine companies made pitches for funding.
